Freshman year at JHCS introduces students to the expectations and to the culture of the School. Students participate in Town Hall, clubs, and other school wide offerings. In general, students can expect more freedom, more responsibility for their education, and more academic exploration than they have been exposed to in their previous school settings. Time management skills will be emphasized, as will their introduction to the focused, serious, and inspirational nature of their academics.

2. History 9: Historical and Cultural Foundations
3. English 9: Introduction to the Genres
4. Science 9: Mechanics and Matter
5. Arts: Visual and Performing
6. Foreign Language: French I or Spanish I
