Sophomore Year
Sophomore year at JHCS emphasizes the strengthening and honing of fundamental academic skills such as writing, study habits and oratory skills. Students receive their first exposure to college entrance exams when they take the PSAT. By the end of sophomore year, students are expected to have a strong foundation in all academic areas as they move towards more advanced courses during their junior and senior years.

Typical Course Load
1. Math 10: Geometry or Algebra II
2. History 10: Twentieth Century World
3. English 10: Exploration of World Literature
4. Science 10: Biology
5. Arts: Visual and Performing Electives
6. Foreign Language: Spanish II or III
