Advisor Program
At JHCS, the faculty advisor is central to each student's academic and social growth. Advisory period meets once a week and features experiential education activities, academic progress meetings, community service projects, and advisory lunch gatherings. The advisor provides the primary communication link between the School, student, and family, holding at least two conferences a year with parents. The advisor serves as the student's primary advocate on campus. Students may choose a new advisor at the end of each school year or keep the same advisor throughout their high school experience. Students who need personal counseling beyond the School's services are referred to an outside counselor for further guidance.
