Scott has taught Social Studies, Spanish, and ESL for over 15 years and served as the JHHS Boys' Soccer Coach for 10 years. Scott currently teaches Spanish IV.

Amy has over 17 years of teaching experience in both private and public high schools. She has taught 9th and 10th grade English, AP English, World History, and U.S. History. Amy currently teaches History 10.

Tyler has over ten years of teaching experience in private schools. He has taught a wide variety of subjects including Algebra, U.S. History, European History, Ancient Greek History, Economics, and Marketing. Prior to his arrival at JHCS Tyler spent five years teaching at the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut, where he also served as the varsity lacrosse coach. Tyler currently teaches History 9.

David previously served as the Co-Director of College Counseling at Marin Academy in San Rafael, California. Prior to that, he was an admissions counselor at Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Karen previously worked as the Head Secretary for the Jackson Hole High School. A Jackson native, she has 15 years of experience with the Teton County school District in an administrative capacity.

Sarah joins the JHCS staff as the new Director of Development, having quite a diverse background in the corporate world and international non-profit organizations. Sarah's vast international endeavors provide the school with a "global perspective," which offer the community a wonderful opportunity to grow and learn from her experience. Sarah most recently worked as the Development Director for a non-profit organization, creating HIV/AIDS educational programs for children in South Africa.

It has taken its place in the community as offering the highest quality education both academically and in terms of establishing fundamental "life skills." I often catch myself thinking that I wish I had the opportunity to attend this school. Robin has taught a variety of science, art, and photography courses. After teaching at the American School of Milan in Italy, she completed the Teton Science Schools' Professional Residency in Environmental Education. Robin joined the JHCS community in 2005, and she currently teaches Biology, Photo I, and Photo II.
"High school students should be encouraged to take risks in and out of the classroom, challenging themselves daily to discover their true talents and interests. The small size of JHCS and the committed faculty and student body provide the supportive environment necessary for taking these risks. I feel lucky to be part of a school that promotes learning in all settings."

Tom taught physics and other subjects at Holderness School in New Hampshire and The Rivers School in Massachusetts before moving west to Jackson. He designed the courses Robotics and Alternative Energy Sources, which he has brought to JHCS. He has also coached soccer, skiing, softball, baseball and hockey at both the JV and Varsity level. This year he will be teaching Robotics, Physics, Advanced Physics, and Astronomy.

Stacey has worked with students in varying capacities for the past 8 years. She has taught pre-calculus, horticulture, biology, and geometry, in addition to serving as the academic coordinator for the Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club. Stacey currently teaches Algebra I, Algebra II, and Advanced Environmental Science.

John has more than ten years of experience as a teacher and theater director in independent schools. Over the course of his career, he has created a wide range of humanities courses, including American Studies, Russian Literature, and Modern European Drama. John also works as an actor and play translator. He currently teaches English 10, Russian History, Renaissance England, and Theater I and II.

Prior to coming to JHCS in 2005, Cheryl spent a year as a teacher of humanities in the Bronx, New York. During this time she received her master’s degree in the Teaching of Social Studies. She has also served as a tutor, mentor, and counselor to at-risk teens in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Cheryl currently teaches English 11 and History 11.
"One of the most notable characteristics of JHCS is its continual commitment to lifelong learning. Instead of simply memorizing facts and dates, students are asked to consider the implications of the past and its impact on the present. Both faculty and students delve into and explore the unknown, an aspect that is a rarity in high schools."

Prior to his arrival at JHCS, Smith spent many years instructing courses for Outward Bound and NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School). His journalism background includes reportage for newsweeklies and magazines. Most recently, Smith taught English, climbing, and outdoor leadership at the Colorado Rocky Mountain School. Smith currently teaches English 9 and 12.

Prior to his arrival at the Community School in 2005, Ben served as a tutor and teaching assistant in Astronomy and Geology; he has also researched climate change for the University of Idaho. Ben was a ski patroller at Grand Targhee for 13 years and has guided raft trips in Alaska and on the Snake River in Grand Teton National Park. Currently, Ben teaches Chemistry and Geometry.

Matt enters JHCS with 15 years of experience as an educator, coach, and advisor, having worked in Illinois public and private high schools, and a private boarding school in Connecticut. His most recent educational experience was at the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut. Matt will be serving the school as department chair and he will be teaching Spanish II and III.

Christian has worked in various capacities with children in the Jackson area for more than 10 years. In addition to teaching, Christian is a self-taught painter and the author of the award-winning book "The Manny Files" and its sequel, "Hit the Road, Manny." Christian currently teaches Visual Arts I and II.
"I am really looking forward to teaching again this year. The students last year surpassed my expectations and proved that they are thoughtful in their interest and participation in the arts. The students not only seemed to appreciate the contemporary artists that we studied, but also developed an understanding of how they can express themselves through the arts. I am looking forward to seeing what they do this year."

Burr served as a teacher, coach, and administrator at Jackson Hole High School for 28 years before most recently serving as Principal at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. Burr currently teaches the Pre-Calculus and Calculus courses at JHCS.

Grace joins the JHCS Staff this year, piloting the school's Mandarin Chinese program. Grace spent the last ten years working at Yale University in the IT department and she was the website manager for the Yale Law School. Grace has studied extensively in both Taiwan and China. Grace has many years of university teaching experience and she is looking forward to working with the students at JHCS.
"I'm excited to be working at JHCS because it is such a dynamic, community-oriented school where the teachers get to work closely with the students in very small classes. It's a great opportunity for everyone involved."

Charlotte joins the JHCS faculty with over ten years of service as an educator in Washington State (The Bush School, Aki Kurose Middle School, the Seattle Girls' School), the Teton County School District, and the Journeys School. Charlotte will be teaching Spanish I this year.
