Upcoming Events
May 17th  
  New Dances, New Choregraphers, May 17 at 7:00 p.m.
JHCS students, Siobhan Chariott, Bernadette Nelson and Morgan Lunsford will dance in this annual showcase of work at the Center for the Arts. The evening is completely produced, marketed, choreographed and danced by community teenagers. Tickets are $7 for students, $12 for adults.
 
May 22nd  
  Poet Drew Dellinger to Visit JHCS, May 22
Ecological poet, teacher and activist Drew Dellinger (www.drewdellinger.org) will share his poetry with our students and invite them to participate in the fun. He’s an Associate Professor at John F. Kennedy University in San Francisco, founder of Poets for Global Justice, and author of a collection of poems called, “love letter to the milky way.” You are invited to join us for this incredible program from 1:25 to 2:15 p.m.
 
May 22nd  
  Senior Project Presentations, May 19-22
Each senior will make a 10 minute presentation and field questions from the audience for another 5 minutes. Panels will then convene for 15 minutes about each project. We invite you to join us for these very special presentations. (A detailed schedule will be posted after May 14.)
 
May 29th  
  "Darius Goes West" Celebrate Your Life Party, May 29
In celebration of our graduating seniors, JHCS will host the film presentation and post-party for the award-winning documentary, “Darius Goes West” (www.dariusgoeswest.com), a story about Darius Weems, a 15 year-old suffering from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and his journey across the U.S. in a wheelchair-accessible RV with 11 college-age friends. The film begins at 5:30, and is followed by a Q & A with the director and team and a dinner. Seating and the party are by reservation only. Fifty (50) extra tickets will be released to the general public on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please contact JHCS for more information, 733-5427.
