#TeacherTuesday

Amy Fulwyler 4/7

How long have you been in working in education?

28 years (holy cow!)

In what areas?

History/social studies and English/language arts

How long at JHCS?

15 years

What do you do outside working at JHCS?

Spend time with family and friends, backcountry ski, mountain bike, hike, read, hang out with my cat

What is your most rewarding part of the day at JHCS?

I have three "most rewarding" times. First thing is that the morning is always fun as students and teachers arrive, greet each other, and catch up. I also love Town Hall because it is run by students and because the entire community is together, laughing and talking and giving kudos. And I always have fun in whatever class I'm teaching because talking about interesting ideas with young people is one of my favorite things to do!

What drew you to the field of education?

I stumbled into it accidentally and discovered that I loved being part of engaging, energized learning communities. Education combines intellectualism, relationships, creativity, and the feeling of making a positive impact in one's community. What's not to love?
