This fall David Heinemann, our Director of College Counseling, toured several mountain west colleges prior to attending his national conference in Salt Lake City. While visiting Univ. of Wyoming, CU Boulder, Univ. of Denver, Colorado College and Univ. of Utah, he had the wonderful opportunity to reconnect with some JHCS alums. David met with Parker Case '12 on the Boulder campus where he is working on his doctorate in atmospheric science. While thriving in his program, he is always anxious for the next volcanic eruption to study. Next, David headed to Denver and met up with the George kids, Chase and Riley '17. Both seemed to be thriving in the business program at DU and liked the location in the Rockies. After leaving Denver, David headed to Colorado Springs to have dinner with BB Hall '18 who is attending Colorado College. BB has been enjoying the close community of CC and feels totally prepared to handle the rigors of the block program. BB was headed off with her class to the Getty Museum in Los Angeles to watch a performance that was being studied in her class at the time. Wow! At David's final destination, he had the chance to have lunch with Sloane Gordon '16 in between her classes and various leadership roles at the University of Utah. Sloane spoke of her work with the school's ski club and Model UN experiences. She was doing so much it was hard for David to keep up. At the end of his trip, the most remarkable aspect of his visits were just how well prepared our alums were for the numerous opportunities college offers. Our kids do not lounge around. They are doers!
