Equality Day Celebration!

This year, our annual MLK Jr/Equality Day celebration focused on the theme of “The Power of the Voice,” and we had an incredible day. The senior class, especially those in Roxana Wortman’s upper level Spanish classes, played a huge role in the organization and execution of our programming and did a fantastic job. We viewed a powerful documentary, The Quiet Force, and had a great Q and A session with one of the filmmakers along with a few community members. The student body then attended short sessions with a number of seniors, who thoughtfully linked their Senior Projects to the theme of the day. And our traditional gathering on the Town Square was impressive, with excellent speeches from Mayor Pete Muldoon, Student Body President Ethan Kolasky, 11th grader Maleah Tuttle-Armajo, and 9th grader Anna Revill. Georgia Eidemiller served as our MC, and Isaac Grossman led us in a beautiful rendition of "If I Had a Hammer" on his guitar. It was a memorable and moving day!
