Guide to Getting Involved

The JHCS Parent Association:

The Parent Association provides food and support and appreciation for faculty and staff throughout the year.

Giving at JHCS:

The Community School is a non-profit and depends on

financial contributions from the community, teachers and most importantly families. Each year we strive to have 100% giving from JHCS Community members.

Ways to Give:

Old Bill’s Fun Run- Every September

Annual Fund Drive- October through December 31st.

Annual Gala- Attend the Annual Gala every spring

The FOR Project:

Scott Hirschfield, co-founder and former Head of School, recently started The FOR Project, which enables all of us to direct money to The Community School whenever we eat out. When we make a purchase at one of the participating merchants across the country, JHCS automatically receives a percentage of the sale. This donation is provided by the merchant, not the customer.  Here is a link to JHCS on The FOR Project Website, which makes it easy to register and support The Community School. The FOR Project doesn’t currently have any restaurants in Jackson, but when you travel, please keep this in mind! (Click here to enter a zip code and find participating restaurants in a particular area.) Thank you for supporting The Community School through The FOR Project.

You can also support JHCS when you shop at Smith’s and Amazon. Sign up your Smith’s Card and designate JHCS as your charity, and shop through AmazonSmile for JHCS to receive a percentage whenever you shop.

Contact Shannon Brooks Hamby (Ext. 103 or [email protected]) for help with signing up for these corporate giving programs or with any other questions about giving or getting involved.
