The Community Fund
The JHCS Community Fund is comprised of three revenue streams: gifts through Old Bill's, the Annual Appeal, and the Gala.
The Community Fund enables us to provide the incredible community experience that many of you know to be foundational to a JHCS education. As we enter our twentieth year, we continue to foster curiosity and challenging academics in our classrooms, in our shared spaces, and beyond the walls of our building. Your gifts enable us to attract and retain an outstanding faculty who work to expand the breadth and depth of our curriculum, maintain our commitment to low student-teacher ratios, and sustain the operation and maintenance of our facilities.
The Annual Appeal is the cornerstone fundraising effort at Jackson Hole Community School, spanning our fiscal year. Gifts made through this campaign are unrestricted and budget relieving, constituting nearly two-thirds of the Community Fund. As is customary with most independent schools, every student’s tuition is subsidized by the school, and we rely heavily on gifts to ensure that we can cover the full cost of educating each student. By reducing the need for fundraising through events, the Annual Appeal enables us to focus on educating our students: student enrichment, innovative academic programming, experiential education, and excellence in teaching benefit directly from contributions to the Annual Appeal. Every August, Old Bill’s Fun Run for Charities provides an opportunity to receive extra funds from the generous matching donation made possible by Mr. and Mrs. Old Bill and the Co-Challengers. Through this community-wide fundraiser, local nonprofits receive gifts from their supporters, which are made through the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, and organizations who receive a minimum of $30,000 in gifts are eligible to receive a percentage of the match funds, which amplify the impact of their designated gifts. Community is the backbone of all that we believe in at JHCS, and participation in Old Bill’s provides a learning opportunity for students to apply their experience of community and generosity toward others beyond our walls. As we prepare them for college and life, we hope that the spirit of community and philanthropy fostered by Old Bill's instills an understanding of the impact made by supporting others.

The Gala is our annual fundraising event. Held each spring, it is a celebration of our community and our school year, and we hope all families, alumni, and friends of the school will join us: click here for more details on this year's event on May 3.
We are so grateful for our generous community that supports the mission of JHCS. While we invite you to participate in any of our fundraising initiatives, we ask that all parents and constituents contribute to the Annual Appeal. The Annual Appeal helps JHCS grow from its roots. Every gift exceeding our annual fundraising goal funds aspirational projects, curricular advancements, and continuing teacher education that equip us to better serve our students each year. In sum, your gifts provide the funds necessary for the program enhancements and projects needed to maintain our tradition of educational excellence—a margin of excellence not afforded by tuition alone.

Other Ways to Give
We are grateful for many other than monetary forms of support: gifts of time and treasure by our community of families and alumni are a vast resource bank, and we hope that you will partner with us in educating our students. If you are willing to speak to students about an experience or area of expertise, to connect students to possible community sponsors for their junior fellowship or senior project work, or to assist our alumni in professional networking, we ask that you reach out to the Director of Advancement anytime.
You can even support the Community School simply by shopping at Smith's Food and Drug Store. Enrolling in their customer rewards program is an easy way to help provide a little additional support to the school.
