About the JHCS Parent Association
Parent Association (PA) exists to provide support to the school & faculty. We are successful in doing this because of our supportive community. We rely on generous donations of your time, talent, energy, and financial support to provide food, assistance, and appreciation for faculty and staff all year long through activities such as parent-teacher conferences, admissions open houses, graduation, holiday gifts, and spring staff appreciation. Additionally, the PA hosts (almost) monthly school-wide hot lunches. Students pay for the hot lunches, either in advance for the year (and receive a free meal) or the day of; parents volunteer to provide the food, serve the meal, and clean up. Money generated from the payment of the lunches is used to help fund Staff Appreciation Week in the spring. Below are just a few of the ways the Parent Association supports the JHCS community:

 

Parent/Teacher Conferences: Parent/Teacher conference week is a long week for staff with extended hours and long days. We provide meals, snacks, and beverages to keep our teachers energized! 

 

Hot Lunch: The PA hosts (almost) monthly school-wide hot lunches. Students pay for the hot lunches, either in advance for the year (and receive a free meal) or the day of. Parents volunteer to provide the food, serve the meal, and clean up. Money generated from the payment of the lunches is used to help fund staff appreciation in the spring. This is a fun and easy way to be in the building, connect with staff and students, and show appreciation. 

 

Holiday Gift: Each year the PA asks for monetary donations to distribute to the staff as a holiday thank you. 

 

Stock the Cabinets: Periodically throughout the year the PA will collect non-perishable goodies to refresh, feed, and energize the faculty by stocking the kitchen cabinets. We have a growing list of staff favorites listed on the sign-up form.
